Buenos Aires, January 29 (NA) – The political space of Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof will march this Friday alongside environmental organizations and other sectors to demand that the national government declare a fire emergency amid the wildfires that have been affecting the Patagonia region for weeks. Among the organizers are environmental groups and political spaces such as the Movement for the Right to the Future, which announced that the march will depart at 6:30 PM from the Faculty of Law of the UBA, located at Avenida Figueroa Alcorta 2200 in the Palermo neighborhood. The march will arrive at the Ministry of Security, located at Gelly y Obes 2289, the body that oversees the National Fire Management Service, sources from the event organization confirmed to the Argentine News Agency. “Patagonia in flames. We march to demand a fire emergency,” reads the flyer that the Movement for the Right to the Future circulated on social networks. Kicillof's space joined this initiative after a meeting held at the Government House in La Plata, amid the internal Peronist conflict in which this sector is vying with Kirchnerism ahead of the elections for the authorities of the province's PJ, led by national deputy and La Cámpora leader Máximo Kirchner. With just days left until the deadline for submitting lists for the renewal of authorities for the internal elections on March 15, the Movement for the Right to the Future is sharpening its strategy to fight for control of the party structure against Camporism, which intends to remain in power. Among both the mayors close to Kicillof and the high ranks of the provincial cabinet, there is encouragement for the initiative that Vice Governor Verónica Magarió succeed Kirchner, and from there on down, the rest of the party positions can be negotiated.
